Obesity and Infertility
A Direct Link!

During this critical phase of your life, obesity and infertility can be linked. Now is a good time to look at your diet. Infertility can be a direct result of incorrect eating habits, which has probably also being a reason for your weight gain in the past.

Follow this recommended infertility diet, and restrict these foods, to a maximum of 20% of your daily food intake.

Not only will it assist in weight loss, but will have a direct effect on reducing the body's acidic levels, as recommended in an alkaline diet.

Obesity and infertility do not go well together. On this page, we are more concerned, about the alkaline state of the body, necessary for sperm and egg survival, as described in low sperm count. Although losing some weight will also benefit you in the infertility phase!

Women who tend to be overweight may stop or have issues with ovulation.

With obesity, excess fatty tissue can cause too much estrogen, which can disrupt the hormonal balance, necessary for the egg follicles to mature. In addition, women who tend to be overweight can have high insulin levels, which can also create a hormonal imbalance.

Go through the table below, for a guideline of the food items which should form only 20% of your daily intake, or even less, if you can.

Recommended daily - 20% - eating plan

Vegetables Fruit Meat
Vegetables containing high levels of pesticides. Raw vegetables, like salads, should be consumed before 17h00. Well washed and peeled. Only consume during the day, and not after 17h00 in the afternoon. Soya products, processed meats and tin foods.
Cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, peas, beans, lentils, peppers, aubergines (eggplant), courgettes. Peanuts, peanut butters Beef, pork, chicken, sausages, bacon, ham, etc.
Dairy Fish Bread
Cow's milk Shell fish Wheat products, white bread, rolls, cake, biscuits, pizza, pasta - spaghetti, noodles, etc.
Processed cheese
Oils Herbs/spices Drinks
As little as possible. Preservatives - MSG, Tartrazin, etc. Limit spices for meats and fish. Fruit juice, beer, red wine, sodas.

Spring clean your diet!

Alcohol, infertility and obesity all combined, and we have a perfect recipe for lack of conception. Even if a physical condition has been diagnosed by your physician, as to the cause of infertility, minimizing these foods in your diet will still benefit you in creating an alkaline body state.

Caffeine and infertility are again, not a good combination. The one can be considered a cause, the other a result. So change the cause, and we may overcome infertility. We strongly recommend an examination of your eating habits, and these foods and drink, if avoided or minimized, will help in lowering acidic levels.

Cutting out takeouts and processed foods is very difficult, so even if you minimize these foods to once a week, it will make a difference.

Alcohol infertility, caffeine and infertility, as well as obesity and infertility are not good combinations in any form. Fortunately, this is a temporary time in your life where minimizing these indulgences do not have to go on forever, but only until such time as conception takes place.

A minor sacrifice, for a life time achievement!
