Signs of Ovulation Three Primary Fertility Signs
Most women are not aware that their body reveals the most enlightening information about their signs of ovulation. Knowing when you ovulate will require you to observe and chart the three primary fertility signs. Female infertility may be incorrectly assumed due to not knowing when this important day happens!
The basic ovulation calendar will provide information on normal and some unique cycles experienced by woman.
Virtually all ovulating women will experience a change to these symptoms during the three phases of the monthly cycle: -
Waking temperature -
Cervical fluid -
Cervical position Points 1 and 2 will be easy to monitor for signs of ovulation, but most woman will be unsure how to measure their cervical position unless guided by a physician. Each of these symptoms are examined individually.
Basal body temperature
When investigating signs of infertility, this is an easy sign to to observe, to monitor ovulation. The reason for this is that it is easy to record the temperature information in a graph per day, every cycle. A history of each cycle then becomes available, making it easier to predict ovulation. Throughout the cycle, the temperature changes ever so slightly. At the start of the cycle, the temperature is lower. At the time of ovulation, this may drop ever so slightly, and after the ovulatory phase, the temperature rises, and remains high. In the event of conception having taken place, the temperature will remain high. A drop to a normal temperature will occur and indicate the start of the next cycle. Detailed information on monitoring your temperature and what effects a rise in temperature, can be found on ovulation predictor.
Cervical fluid
The interesting thing about cervical fluid, is that most women do not know enough about this basic, but oh so important function. Most women assume they have a discharge, or an infection. Cervical fluid is one of the most important signs of ovulation. Once you learn how to recognize and read this sign, you will be able to monitor ovulation as it approaches. Unlike the temperature rise, which indicates ovulation has already occurred, cervical fluid is secreted as an indication of ovulation being on its way. The female fertile period only lasts a few days. Therefore cervical fluid is only required for a few days, for the ovum to travel. This process is much like a male secreting seminal fluid for the mobility of sperm. Therefore cervical fluid for women is the same and has the same function as seminal fluid for a men. At the beginning of the cycle, there may be no fluid evident at all. As the cycle progresses, and ovulation approaches, so will the cervical fluid develop. At the time of ovulation, this fluid will be long and stretchy and may resemble egg white. Read and know this important indication of ovulation. Another sign to be monitored and charted every cycle.
Cervical position
Most women are not aware that the position of the cervix changes, at the time of ovulation. Additionally the feel, or structure also changes. This is to be expected, as most women, do not know firstly, how to do self examinations, nor are they trained to be able to feel or see the different positions of the cervix. During the cycle, the cervix is normally firm to the touch. As you approach ovulation, this will become soft and rather mushy. It is the cervix itself that releases the wet cervical fluid required by the egg, when its about to be released from the ovaries. The third primary signs of ovulation is optional for usage during your monitoring phase. In the event that you wish to use this indicator as well, consult with your doctor and discuss how you can recognize and monitor the changes taking place.
Hormone levels
As discussed on ovulation, the hormone levels also vary through out the cycle. These levels may be monitored by taking and analyzing blood samples, by your fertility clinic or doctor. It does however require medical intervention, and thus a woman cannot monitor this sign of ovulation on her own. Female infertility, or infertility problems is often attributed to not knowing when ovulation occurs and thus sperm will not be available at that fertility time, for conception to take place.
Recognize your important ovulation signs to precisely time intercourse during your fertile period.
